Ceramic Tile
Ceramic tile is suitable for all interior resident floor installations. Ceramic body tile is impervious to stains easy to maintain and comes in variety of colors and sizes. Ceramic tile is a mixture of clays and minerals that has been shaped, pressed, then fired at temperatures exceeding 2,000 degrees (F), resulting in a hard surface. The protective glaze that is applied before firing gives the ceramic tile added color and finish and makes it resistant to stains, odors, bacteria, and scratches.

Most wall tile is glazed with a semi-gloss or matte finish. It is suitable for interior use and is usually non-vitreous. The glazed surface has a very low slip resistance and becomes slippery when wet, this makes the body of the tile easy to clean. Please see our bathroom remodel page.

Porcelain Tile
Glazed porcelain is one of the most durable surfacing products available, making it a great choice for any interior or exterior residential installation. It is also very common in commercial settings. The porcelain body of the tile is impervious, meaning it absorbs virtually no water and is, therefore, frost proof. A vitreous glaze is baked onto the tile making its surface highly resistant to damage even in the heaviest traffic areas.
Porcelain tile is a type of ceramic made of a very fine mixture of clays and minerals similar to those found in fine dinnerware. These special clays allow porcelain tile to be fired at temperatures even higher than ceramic tile, typically exceeding 2,400 degrees (F). The higher temperature results in a very dense tile. And the denser a tile, the better it resists moisture.
