Project Description and Client Vision
Our client in Keller, TX wanted to update their existing master bathroom. The home was built in 1996 and had not been updated since. The vision for the space was to create a smart elegant design using modern colors of grays and whites. To accomplish this task we expanded the standing shower and removed the tub area, enabling us to create a large walk-in shower. Although the tub was removed, we were able to incorporate some of its functionality to the walk-in shower, thereby retaining its essence. If a guest bathroom already has an existing tub, the bath tub in the master is the one-to-go, typically--the homeowner only has need of one, if that. We are always here to serve the dreams the homeowner wishes for us to execute.

Bathroom Remodel Process - From Concept to Creation
DEMO
Demolition or demoing a home is the first step in any remodel and can be dusty and dirty. To minimize the dust and dirt, we add protective film to the nearby rooms and doorway of the remodel to prevent debris from escaping. This preliminary step ensures that we maintain a smooth, and clean-as-can-be process: we value each home with great care and tenderness. This particular remodel required the removal of the tub, shower, and cabinetry in the master bathroom, which was all hauled and disposed of at our company dumpster.

PLUMBING
Once bathroom demolition is completed, everything is exposed and is the perfect time for the plumbing. Bathroom plumbing is an essential requirement needed to connect the shower valve and reroute the shower drain. Any updates to the plumbing that the client would like is also done at this point. Although it may seem straightforward, proper placement of the valves and knobs are thoroughly checked to ensure reliable installation.

CABINET WORK
After the shower plumbing is done, cabinetry was installed. Prior to installation, measurements were taken to accommodate the size and shape during our client consultation. Our cabinets are made of real wood and are customized to fit the exact dimensions of the bathroom vanity. New wood cabinets were also installed above the commode. Once the flooring is installed we stain and apply a finish to the cabinets. Lastly, in regards to the cabinets, we add pulls or handles to accent the look. Cabinet pulls are not necessary for a complete cabinet look, it is dependent on the vision our client along with our team has.

FRAMING & TILE
Once the framing is complete, we begin to add a waterproof moisture barrier. If this step is missed or done improperly it will cause noticeable damage within a year. With the shower being prepped we then begin to tile. We continued the same tile for the shower wall into the commode area, wrapping it around creating harmony between areas of the bathroom. Uniting varying areas of the bathroom completes it personality and vision we have for the project.

Within the shower area we added a hidden niche that is only viewable once inside. The shower niche is a spot where our client can place their shampoo, conditioner, and other toiletries. This area can quickly get cluttered. However, with this smart design it can aesthetically provide a sleek clean look by hiding the visual of clutter.

QUARTZ & LIGHTING
We installed level 5 Quartz in several areas including the vanity, backsplash, window sills, shower half-wall, shower curb/step, and shower bench. This white quartz fused the grays and whites already in use by the tiles.

There was existing recessed lighting above the shower and above the commode area; these were replaced with new LED Halo Lights. Additionally, we installed 6 LED Halo lights throughout the bathroom space with a switch dimmer. If the lighting is ever too bright it can always be dimmed with the slight push of a switch.

FRAMELESS GLASS
Lastly, frameless glass was fixed atop of the half-wall build. Water could splash above the half-wall without the frameless glass using the waterfall rain head or any shower head. Because the half-wall is a sizable length, water will not spill around it or come close to seeping out; water will stay inside the shower area.
