Home Office Conversion to Master Bath Suite
Our client was in need of a master suite next to the master bedroom. At the time there was only a guest bathroom and no master bathroom. We proposed a couple of options and we ultimately decided to convert his office as the Master Suite, which is adjacent to the master bedroom.
Bathroom Remodel Process
First, we designed the blueprint and tweaked it until the client was happy then we proceeded to the next step, demolition. We brought down the walls and took up the flooring. Demolition for this project took around two days. As a professional company we don't leave trash in the owners home or on their yard, we take it to our company dumpster where we dispose of it. With projects this size we understand that there will be a lot of dust. One thing we emphasize with our clients is that we strive to keep the area dust free, we like to finish a project as clean as can be.
With demolition over we began to frame the walls that would serve as skeletons for the project. The framing included partitions for shower, jacuzzi, commode area, a walk-in closet, and a powder room(guest). With the installation of a new vanity, shower, and jacuzzi, the plumbing was next, we ran water lines and drain systems.
The shower and surrounding jacuzzi had 12"X24" white porcelain tile installed with shimmer glass border. The shower had a frameless glass enclosure, this design offers appeal and functionality. Besides the cleaner look, maintenance is minimal because there are no metal pieces where soap scum can build-up.
Client requested lots of closet space. Therefore, a walk-in closet was built with custom shelves and drawers. We wanted to make the best use of all available space, so near the jacuzzi we custom-built a large linen closet from the floor to the ceiling which offered lots of additional storage space.
For flooring, a 8"X40" wood look tile was installed throughout the master suite floor.
The client requested LED CAN lighting above jacuzzi, commode area, closet, and vanity. Needless to say there was plenty of electrical work to be done. We like LED CAN lighting because it gives a room a modern look and improves the functionality, like dimming the room or having the lights turn on with a motion sensor.
At this stage our ideas began to take shape. We added double sink cabinets painted white to compliment the newly installed tile and wall paint. Typically, our cabinets are custom made from real wood, this project was no exception. With the cabinets in place we added granite counter-tops with oval white sinks.
Finally, a double door was installed that connects the master bedroom to the new master suite.
Since we were remodeling two bathrooms at one time, the master suite and powder room, we had to coordinate our efforts. The powder room mirrored what was done in the larger master suite.
Adrian's Flooring has my highest recommendation. He added a new bathroom for us and remodeled another with new tile, fixtures, a jacuzzi tub and granite countertops. It looks great! Adran's crew showed up every day and worked hard to minimize the time our house was torn up. His workers were competent and courteous. This was our third experience with Adrian's Flooring. He previously installed wood flooring throughout the house and carpeting in a bedroom. We have been pleased with the workmanship and service every time.
